The move was incredibly difficult for me because I had always been a homebody and had never really traveled much outside of my hometown, let alone out of the country. I remember being so scared by the idea of living abroad in a country were I would have to speak a foreign language.##Write about what you did today, or what happened in the past week The week before I began writing this blog post, I spent most of my time alone at home. My fiancee was out of town for work, so I hung out with my friends on Saturday and Sunday, but other than that I went to class or worked on homework.##What are your plans for tomorrow, next month or the rest of the year? I'm planning to take a trip with my fiancee up to Lofoten Islands in Norway in late June. I've been there before, but only on a day trip from a nearby town, so this time I'm looking forward to spending a little bit more time there hiking and taking pictures. Next month, I'll have an individual exhibition of my artwork at home in the city where I live.##What advice would you give someone who is just starting out in your field? When I was just starting out as an artist, I used to be crippled by self doubt and fear of failure. In my mind, any piece of art that wasn't 100% perfect was a failure. It took me a long time to realize that this was completely unnecessary and it's really held me back from improving as an artist for a long time. I used to think that if I achieved perfection in my artwork, then I would be able to speak with confidence about it and show people. But in reality, it's really not important. Really what matters is the fact that you put yourself out there and try to create something from scratch using your own artistic vision. ##What makes you happy? In general, people might think I have a particularly negative or cynical attitude towards life, but actually I can't really say that! To me a good life is a life that is full of experiences and emotions. One of my greatest pleasures is going on adventures with friends and exploring new places. I love experiencing art, music, cinema and all sorts of media that are out there. As far as food goes, I'm not much of a big eater, but I love to try new things.##What are your goals for the future? At the moment my main goal is to improve as an artist and hopefully find more success in my career.
